Terms of Service

• You must be at least 16 years old, or the digital-age-of-consent equivalent in your country.
• You must provide accurate information and keep your account credentials secure. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• Organizers confirm they have the authority to bind the organization they sign up for.
• Creators who list a roadbook for sale confirm they can enter a binding agreement, and are responsible for declaring and paying any tax due on what they earn.

RallyBook has three kinds of user:

• Organizers upload roadbooks, create events, invite participants, and pay for the event (section 6).
• Riders use event passwords / invitations to access roadbooks for the duration of an event. That access is free and always will be: nothing a rider needs in order to ride an event they were invited to is behind a purchase. A rider may separately buy things for themselves, namely Credits, Analysis Reports, RallyBook Pro and Marketplace rentals (sections 7 to 10).
• Creators list roadbooks they made in the Marketplace, and riders rent them. A creator earns a share of each rental (section 11).

One account can be all three. The role is not a setting, it is simply what you are doing at the time.

Organizers and creators retain all rights to roadbooks they upload. You grant RallyBook a non-exclusive licence to encrypt, store, deliver, and display that content to participants and renters you authorise, solely for the purpose of running the service.

You confirm you own (or are licensed to distribute) every file you upload. You will not upload illegal content, content that infringes third-party rights, or content that doesn't belong to you.

You may not, and may not let anyone else:

• Attempt to extract, copy, or redistribute encrypted roadbooks outside the RallyBook app, including by reverse-engineering the app or the encryption format.
• Share your account credentials, or let people who haven't been granted an entitlement use your access.
• Scrape, mass-download, or use automated tools against the service without our written permission.
• Use RallyBook to deliver malware or illegal content.
• Use RallyBook for events that promote violence, hate, or illegal activity.
• Manipulate Credits, rentals, reviews or creator earnings, including by creating accounts to buy your own listings, or by faking riding activity.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Riders' access to roadbooks is bound to the event window the organizer configures. Once an event ends, locally-cached files are purged on the next library refresh and access is revoked server-side. Organizers may also revoke individual riders before event end via the participants list.

• An organizer plan is bought once, per event, in advance. It is not a subscription: nothing recurs, and you pay nothing between events. Creating an account and an organization is free, and so is creating and configuring an event. What a plan pays for is granting riders access to it.
• The tiers are Ride-out at €19 (up to 10 riders), Training at €79 (up to 30), Event at €199 (up to 100) and Professional at €499 (no rider ceiling). Prices are in euros, taxes included where applicable.
• A plan covers one event up to the participant count of the tier you bought. You can move an event up to a higher tier at any time by paying the difference between the two. If your field grows past your tier, write to us and we will move you up rather than lock riders out.
• Riders never pay for an event. Whatever tier you bought, opening the roadbooks you deliver and navigating your event costs a participant nothing.
• There is no renewal to fail, so there is no failed-payment downgrade. An abandoned checkout simply leaves the event unpaid. Refunds and downgrades are handled by writing to us.

Organizer checkout is currently closed while we finish the switch to our live payment provider account. Events created in the meantime keep the access they already have. The terms above are how the plans work, not a promise about a date.

• Credits are RallyBook's currency, worth roughly one euro each. They are bought as an in-app purchase in the mobile app, never on this website, and they are billed by Apple or Google. You have one wallet and one balance.
• Credits you bought do not expire. Credits you did not buy (the ones included with RallyBook Pro, and any we grant as a reward or as goodwill) are promotional, and may expire 24 months after they are granted.
• Credits are not money and are not a payment instrument. They cannot be cashed out, cannot be transferred to another account, and have no value outside RallyBook.
• If you delete your account, any Credits still in your wallet are lost. They are not refunded and not paid out. Spend them before you go.
• We keep a ledger of every movement in your wallet. If a purchase is reversed or charged back, we may reverse the matching Credits, which can leave a balance below zero until it is settled.

An Analysis Report is the paid analysis of your own run on a stage. It costs 20 Credits, charged once per stage. Reopening, exporting and sharing a report you already unlocked is free and costs nothing more. A report analyses your riding, not the roadbook, and it is never required in order to ride.

Reports are available for stages that carry a route line, which means roadbooks in GPX form. A PDF roadbook is a document rather than a route, so there is nothing to measure your run against: no Report is offered for a ride on one, and no Credits are charged. Your distance, time and track for that ride remain available to you at no cost.

Older versions of the app sold this as "Roadbook Review" credits, individually and in packs. That lineup is retired. Any review credits still on your account convert into wallet Credits worth the same number of reports they bought before.

RallyBook Pro is an auto-renewing yearly subscription, sold through the App Store or Google Play in your own currency. It renews every year until you cancel, and you can cancel any time from your App Store or Google Play account; cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for.

Pro covers importing and opening your own roadbook files and the cockpit tools when no organizer is behind you, and it includes 60 Credits for each year you are subscribed (three Analysis Reports' worth), granted when the year begins. Those Credits are promotional under section 7. Pro follows your RallyBook account rather than the store you bought it in, so it works across your devices and across the two platforms, up to the device limit shown in the app. Pro is never required to ride an event.

The Marketplace is where creators list roadbooks and riders rent them. It is not open to the public yet. These terms describe how it works so that they are in place before it opens.

• You are renting, not buying. A rental is one riding session of up to 48 hours. The clock starts when you actually start riding the roadbook, not when you buy it, download it, or open it.
• A rental may be used on up to two devices in one cockpit, so a driver and a navigator can both have it in front of them. It is not a way for two riders to share one rental.
• A rental you have not started stays redeemable for 12 months from purchase, and can be downloaded to a device for 30 days from purchase. Once the 48 hours are up, or the 12 months pass unused, the roadbook is removed from your device.
• Prices are set by the creator, between 5 and 999 Credits, and are paid from your wallet.
• Every listing carries a preview of the real document before you pay. Looking at it is free and spends no Credits. The preview is a condition of a listing being published, and the creator cannot switch it off while the listing is live.
• We use your riding and journal data to work out when a rental was actually started, and to detect one rental apparently being ridden in two places at once. Where the evidence shows riding started earlier than claimed, the rental window is corrected to the evidence.

• When you list a roadbook you confirm it is your original work, that you have the right to sell it, and that selling it does not breach anyone else's rights or any agreement you are under (including with an event organizer).
• Every listing is reviewed by a person before it publishes. We can refuse a listing, ask for changes, or take a published listing down.
• A listing does not publish without a preview of its real content, which is free for anyone to look at. You cannot disable or curate it away while the listing is live. If a file cannot produce one, it cannot be listed.
• You earn 70% of net revenue: the store's fees come off the price first, then a fixed €1 RallyBook fee per sale, and 70% of what remains is yours. The exact figures for each sale are recorded on the sale and shown in your creator dashboard.
• Earnings accrue in euros and mature over a hold period before they can be paid out. The standard hold is 14 days from the sale, and it is longer for higher-priced listings. The hold exists so that refunds and chargebacks land before the money leaves.
• Once you have €100 or more matured, you can request a payout, which we run manually. We do not yet run payouts on a fixed schedule. You can instead convert matured earnings into Credits to spend in RallyBook.
• If you sell work that is not yours, or manipulate sales, reviews or rewards, we can remove your listings, reverse the affected sales along with the earnings from them, and suspend your account.

If you rented a roadbook and we can verify that you actually rode it, you can leave a 1 to 5 star review of that listing. Reviews are free, in both directions: nobody pays to leave one and nobody pays to have one. One review per rider per listing, and you can edit or delete your own.

The creator gets exactly one public response to each review. Reviews are published under your display name. We remove reviews for abuse, for publishing someone's personal information, for spam, and for being about something other than the roadbook. We do not remove a review for being negative, and a creator cannot have one removed by asking.

Any user can report a listing, a review, or any other content from inside the app, or by writing to hello@rallybook.app with a link or an identifier for what you are reporting and why. We look at every report a person sends us.

We can remove content, refuse or unpublish a listing, reverse sales, and suspend or terminate accounts, whether or not anyone reported it. Where we take something down we tell the person who posted it, and they can reply to us and ask us to look again.

• Credits and RallyBook Pro are sold by Apple and Google, not by us. Refunds for those go through Apple or Google under their own policies, and we cannot grant them on your behalf.
• For Marketplace rentals, write to us and we will look at it. A rental you never started and never downloaded is refunded on request within 14 days of purchase. One you never started but did download, we judge case by case. One you have ridden is refunded only if the roadbook was defective, for example if it does not match the route it describes. There is no self-serve refund button, so ask us at hello@rallybook.app.
• Organizer plans are one-time purchases for a specific event. Refunds are handled by writing to us.
• If you are a consumer in the EU, none of the above affects your statutory rights. Note that where you ask for digital content to be made available to you immediately, you may lose the right to withdraw from that purchase once it has been made available.

Authentication uses Sign in with Apple, Google sign-in, and Firebase Auth. Organizer payments are processed by Stripe; rider purchases of Credits and RallyBook Pro are billed by Apple or Google through their own stores. Encrypted storage uses Google Cloud Storage. Each of these providers has its own terms. Your use of RallyBook is also subject to theirs as they apply to you.

You may delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend your account if you breach these terms, if it's required by law, or if continued service would cause material harm (e.g. confirmed payment fraud).

Deleting your account destroys your profile, your entitlements, your ride history and your wallet. Any Credits left in it are lost, and are not refunded or paid out. Financial and anti-fraud records that we are required to keep survive, no longer attached to a live account: Marketplace sale records, store receipt records, your creator earnings ledger, and reviews you published. The privacy policy sets out, under "What deleting your account does and does not erase", exactly what is destroyed and what is kept. If you are a creator with earnings still owed to you, the app will refuse to delete your account until that money is settled.

RallyBook is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do our best to keep the service running and your data safe, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service or that the encryption / DRM is unbreakable. We are not responsible for content uploaded by organizers or listed by creators, nor for the outcomes of events run on RallyBook. A roadbook is a navigation aid; you remain responsible for riding safely and within the law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the greater of (a) €100, or (b) the fees you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or anything else that can't be limited by applicable law.

PLACEHOLDER, to be completed before public launch. RallyBook does not yet have a formed legal entity, so no governing law or jurisdiction can honestly be named here. Once the entity exists, its name, registered address and jurisdiction replace this paragraph, and the courts of that jurisdiction handle disputes unless mandatory consumer-protection rules require otherwise. Until then, nothing on this page waives any statutory right you have where you live.

We may update these terms occasionally. We'll post a revision date at the top of this page and, for material changes, email active organizers and creators at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the change date constitutes acceptance.
